Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS)

Culturally responsive mental health treatment services to support the social, emotional and behavioral needs of Asian & Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander children, youth and their families. 

Mental health services may include outreach, screening, intake assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, case management, family support, crisis response and management, psychiatric services, and referral. Our team also provides psychoeducation workshops to youth, families, and caregivers to increase mental health knowledges and skills to improve overall well-being of young people.  

Mental health staff includes multilingual and multicultural licensed counselors. Services may be provided through office-based, school-based, or telehealth (virtual) methods.

Languages offered: 

Our clinicians speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Taishanese, Korean, Malay, Indonesian, Tagalog, Khmer, Vietnamese, and Japanese. Interpreter services are also available. 

Format: 

 

  • Telehealth/Virtual therapy 
  • Messaging/texting service with therapist 
  • In-person therapy sessions at a community office 
  • In-person therapy sessions at a school (within Seattle Public Schools) 

Mode:  

Individual therapy; Group therapy; Psychoeducational groups 

Frequency: 

As needed; Per assessment recommendations and treatment plan developed    

Maximum # of Sessions: 

No limit at this time  

Time of day sessions are available: 

Weekdays during school hours; Weekdays after school; Flexible scheduling during school breaks 

Locations (In-Person therapy): 

Central District; Southeast Seattle 

How to enroll: 

To start with enrollment, please complete our online referral form https://forms.office.com/r/4G5qYL4pn2 or contact our intake & referral specialist through email or phone call.  Once referral is received, the intake & referral specialist will response within 2 business days to follow up for screening.  A therapist will contact in 1-2 weeks after screening to schedule an intake assessment appointment.   Regular therapy sessions will be scheduled after the intake assessment is completed. 

  • Youth (13+) can self-refer 
  • Family/caregiver can refer youth 
  • Another provider can refer youth 
  • School can refer youth 
  • Enrollment can be done over the phone  
  • Enrollment support is provided directly to youth 

Enrollment wait time: 

1-2 weeks after referral has been received and screened
