Lake Union Park Maintenance Improvements

Seattle Parks and Recreation is investing in maintenance and renovation projects at Lake Union Park in preparation for the 2026 World Cup Games. These projects include: refresh of the Southern gravel area, turf replacement, replacement of wood decking, general maintenance of park furnishings and amenities, and replacement of unhealthy trees. This work will require the closure of specific areas of the park in phases.

Budget

$800,000 for operating and capital improvements from the Park and Recreation Fund

Project Schedule

Construction: Late February – Early June 2026
Completion: Early June 2026

Anticipated Site Impact

Large sections of the park will be closed in phases. We will do our best to maintain pedestrian pathways through the park during construction.
